Kate Winslet was just 19 when she auditioned for this role. This shoot was canned in 1996.
The test was filmed with Winslet acting opposite 'Six Feet Under' and 'Law & Order' star Jeremy Sisto playing Jack Dawson, in lieu of her yet-to-be-announced leading man Leonardo DiCaprio.
Kate Winslet was one of three actresses who tested for the part. Once Kate did her screen test it was obvious she was Rose, says James Cameron.
