Bollywood’s buxom brigade brings back the red sari as the oomph factor on silver screen.
THE red sari is back with a
vengeance. If the size-zero beauties of B-town are flaunting their
hour-glass figures in skimpy bikinis in films and for glossy magazines,
the voluptuous leading ladies are comfortably bringing sexy back in the
good ol’ red sari.
From Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit to
Karisma Kapoor and Sushmita Sen, most onscreen goddesses have taken the
sari route in the past to flaunt their curves, giving Bollywood its
ultimate sexy image.
Shifting from the floral and transparent styles, the current curvy lot are consistently promoting the sizzling red hot trend.
Kareena Kapoor in Ra.One, Vidya
Balan in The Dirty Picture and now Sonakshi Sinha in the recently
released Rowdy Rathore have sported the red sari in different styles and
drapes.
Not far behind from these ladies
is the sizzling porn star Sunny Leone who has posed in a sari of the
same colour for a promotional shoot of her upcoming film, Jism 2. Doing
what she’s best at, Sunny has posed for several shots with kinky
expressions and does full justice to her porn star take on the
traditional garment.
While Kareena undoubtedly did
full justice to the red sari, bringing together all the ingredients of
sexy, sensuous and sizzling hot, the others weren’t too bad in their red
hot avatars on screen.
While Vidya’s over-the-top skin
show suited her flamboyant character in the film, Sonakshi’s Chhammak
Chhallo Chhail Chhabilee resemblance to Bebo’s Chammak Challo is uncanny
and distasteful.
